Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurobehavioral condition that interferes with a person’s ability to pay attention and exercise age-appropriate inhibition.  A person with ADHD is so inattentive or impulsively hyperactive-or both-that daily functioning at home, school and work is compromised. Signs of ADHD emerge in children during preschool and early school years. Symptoms include difficulty staying focused and paying attention, difficulty controlling behavior, and hyperactivity (over-activity). Children with ADHD often display poor concentration, short-term memory problems and academic difficulties.  They may appear fearless and inflexible.

You are not alone.

At Midwest Psychological Services we regularly assess young people for ADHD and provide services to address symptoms.
